Annabel’s Story

I came to OPENhouse in need of settled accommodation.  I am currently on an Apprenticeship, but was finding it a little difficult due to being unsettled.  Regardless of this I always manage to get up early to travel to my apprenticeship every day.

There was a slight problem in the house at first as I was finding it difficult to sleep, due to the coming and goings of other residents, and asked to move to the ground floor.  The support workers did this and I started getting proper nights sleep and regained my enthusiasm for my apprenticeship.

I did so well in the house that it was decided that I would be offered a move on up to one of the OPENhouse flats, where I would be living a bit more independently.  I moved and am doing really well both living more independently and in my apprenticeship, I have my own place and no one to disturb me when I am studying for my exam for my placement.
